Thank you to all the Merchants, Sponsors, Shoppers and Volunteers that have helped with the success of Merry Market. Held each October for the last 6 years, Merry Market raised over $130,000 for Early Learning programs. These funds have been invested in such programs as West Ga. Health “First Steps,” Success by Six Summer Play, Building Early Learners for Life, and book distribution. Early Learning programs of Troup County are all focused on supporting children ages birth to 5 years-old in preparation for kindergarten. The programs offer ways to prepare children for educational success before they enter the school system.
To make all resources available for the new fundraiser, LaGrange Has Talent, the Magnolia Society and the United Way of West Georgia will suspend its Merry Market fundraiser for 2017. LaGrange Has Talent is an exciting opportunity for residents of Troup County to showcase their performance talent while raising funds for the Early Learning programs in our community. The contest officially kicks off this fall with video submissions in September, and online voting for a four-week time period. The 10 contestants with the highest vote total will compete in a judged event to be held in November 2017. The winner will receive $2,000 cash prize. More information will become available as the contest approaches. Visit www.lagrangehastalent.com to enter your email address and stay up-to-date on schedules, video entry, and voting.
